Bio: In his early career, Chris Barnet modeled planetary atmospheres and used Voyager Spacecraft and Hubble Space Telescope sensors to  understand the climate of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.  For the last two decades, he has developed algorithms for monitoring the Earth's weather and climate from advanced Earth-orbiting sensors. He is presently a Senior Research Scientist at Science and Technology Corp. (STC), Columbia Maryland and is the NASA Sounder Discipline Lead for the Suomi-NPP satellite as well as the NOAA/JPSS Senior Advisor for Atmospheric Sounding.
